Transport Operations Controller

Location: Livingston
Shift: Monday to Friday Day Shift
Salary: £38,000 per annum / Permanent

We are looking for an experienced Transport Operations Controller to join our team in Livingston and play a key role in ensuring our customers receive a seamless 5‑star delivery experience.

As Transport Operations Controller, you'll lead the transport function within a busy Distribution Centre. You'll be responsible for managing people, vehicles, processes and compliance - ensuring delivery of a safe, efficient and customer‑focused operation.

What You'll Be Doing

• Ensuring vehicles are legally compliant, safe and well maintained - including inspections, repairs and routine servicing.
• Managing and monitoring driver qualifications and ensuring all required training is up to date.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with legal and company requirements.
• Supervising waste disposal and maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Leading, coaching and developing the team to optimise performance and drive high standards.
• Supporting the handling, movement and storage of goods to maximise warehouse space and minimise damage.
• Managing delivery schedules, fleet utilisation and staffing to ensure timely and cost‑effective operations.
• Ensuring Health & Safety standards are met, driving a culture of safety throughout the site.
• Producing operational reports covering distribution activity and delivery performance.
• Handling customer enquiries and complaints effectively to maintain exceptional levels of satisfaction.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a Transport Operations Controller or similar role within a distribution or logistics environment.
• Transport Controller CPC qualification.
• Strong people leadership - able to motivate, coach and develop a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to delivering first‑class customer service.
• A team player with flexibility to work occasional Saturday's or evening when required.
