Finance Director
Glasgow
I am partnering with a large financial services group to appoint a new Finance Director. Following a period of growth, the business is seeking an experienced and commercially minded finance leader to strengthen the senior team.
The Finance Director will play a critical leadership role in safeguarding the firm's financial integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving strategic financial planning. You will be responsible for enhancing financial performance, managing risk, and supporting sustainable growth within a highly regulated and competitive environment. The role also carries responsibility for ensuring client money is securely accounted for and transferred accurately and on time. International travel will form part of the position.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead, develop and scale a high-performing UK finance team, embedding strong controls and accountability.
* Oversee month-end, year-end and statutory reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
* Prepare and present Board and lender reporting packs, including KPIs, forecasts and covenant analysis.
* Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning processes.
* Ensure full FCA compliance, including client money governance, regulatory capital monitoring and reporting.
* Maintain robust internal controls, reconciliations and audit trails across trust and operating accounts.
* Manage cash flow, working capital and revenue recognition to optimise financial performance.
* Act as the primary contact for auditors, regulators and lenders.
* Lead finance workstreams for acquisitions, integrations, ERP implementations and strategic initiatives.
* Drive continuous improvement and automation across billing, reporting and financial processes.
Experience
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
* 10+ years' senior finance experience within financial services.
* Experience within a debt collection agency and/or a publicly listed company is desirable.
* Proven track record in regulatory reporting and financial governance.
* Strong understanding of client money controls and trust account management.
* Demonstrable experience managing external auditors and regulatory relationships.
